How To Stay Focused On Goals?
How To Stay Focused On Goals?

Whether it's school, college or even your career, focus is the deciding factor in the race to success. All of us have the same seven days in the week the same 24 hours in the day the people who become successful aren't the ones who work the hardest, they're the ones who can maintain maximum focus on there goals in the minimum minutes of their work.

If you want good marks, if you want good money in life, it's about how focused you are towards your goal.

Before understanding "How to stay focused on goals?", we must know what focus really is?

Focus is about staying in one place, switching off from all the distractions in your life and staying glued to one spot, in one thought, in one work task.

But while you try to stay focused the enemies of focus will creep up on you like the breakups, the bad marks, the insults. We all have pain in our lives. Pains and worries our biggest enemies in the process of being focused, they keep you ungrounded.

So how to really improve your focus towards your goals?

Well the simple answer is to be more grounded.

Here are the simple 5 Steps to become more grounded, so that you can stay focused on your goals and motivated as well.

    1. Write It Down and Write It Down Daily

Dr. Gail Matthews, who's a Professor of Psychology at the Dominican University of California, she did this amazing study on goal setting and she discovered this: that we human beings are actually 42% more likely to achieve our goals if we simply write them down.

I know this sounds basic, but people still don't have their top goals written down, and I got to tell you, they certainly don't look at them every day. And if you're truly serious about achieving your goals this year, please make sure that you actually write them down.

    2. Schedule The Time And The Place Where You're Going To Take Action

Dr. Heidi Grant Halvorson, who's a social psychologist who actually studies goal setting and motivation, found this: Deciding in advance where and when you're going to take specific actions to reach your goal can actually double or triple your chances for success.

You can DOUBLE or TRIPLE your chances for success in achieving your goals, and that's literally huge!!

I don't know about you, but I like those odds, don't you?

But wait, if it's not scheduled, it's not real.

So you need to make sure that you schedule time in your calendar to take action towards your goals and also include where you're going to do it.

For example, let's say it's a workout. So schedule the time you're actually going to work out, plus put in the place like Are you going to do it at the gym? or You're going to do it in your living room?

Doesn't matter. Just put it down.

And if you really want to dial up your chances for success, make a contingency plan too. It means you actually think ahead and you plan for problems or setbacks that you already know could throw you off track, and then you solve for them in advance.

    3. Send Updates To A Friend

The American Society of Training and Development did this study and they found that you actually have a 65% chance of completing a goal if you commit to someone.

Also, If you actually have a specific accountability appointment with another person, this can actually increase your chances of success by up to 95%.

And, you don't have to make this complicated, right?

For example, you can actually just set a standing date with your friend that let's say every Thursday you all are going to send each other an email or a text with a status update. And that's it, not only you are focusing on your goal but you are also increasing your odds of achieving your goal by up to 95%.

    4. Follow Some Kind Of A Fitness Routine

Your body is built to move and if you don't work it enough you'll be left with an excess amount of energy and an excess amount of energy will make you ungrounded.

Tire your body a little the hormones released and the energy is balanced within you will keep your mind sharp.

    5. Learn To Say No

"When you're saying YES to a particular thing then parallelly you're saying NO to something as well". And that 'No to something' might be very important, it may be about your career, may be about your health, or something which will change your life for better.

So don't think about what that person will think when you'll say No. People don't even care about small stuff. It's all in our mind. We live in illusions like what that person will think but in reality no one cares literally.
